Music is always a Joy and Evidential Passion to learn throughout the ages.
Drumalayam has been serving the eternal form of art since the beginning of the 21st century by teaching the Rhythm of Music through Drums and Percussion Instruments by Practical and Theory classes in Chennai.
Drumalayam is a House of Rhythm founded by M.Gopal in 2001, with a belief that every human being has musical potential at their own levels and our vision to nurture them to excel.
The school has students from age of 3 to 45 years, and our way of teaching ranges as Basic – Intermediate – Advanced
Students here will learn the mix of Contemporary Rhythms with a Traditional blend through Innovative Methodology and also be trained for exams in Western Music Grade by the reputed Trinity College of London.
From 2002 various stage performances have been performed by Drumalayam students in different varieties of Rhythms like Basketball Rhythm, Train Sounds, Rhythm in PVC pipes, Kitchen Vessels and more.
Drumalayam holds the pride of training many students into stage performing Drummers for Lead Bands in India.
In 2019 we added Piano, Keyboard and Theory of Music in our school.
1. Individual and group classes are taken according to the student performance and syllabus.
2. Music instrument and equipment are provided for learning.
3. Students will learn to read, write and play the music notations.
Mr. M Gopal known as “Drum Gopal” has been into music for almost 4 decades, with a track record of several stage programs and film recordings with the Eminent Musicians and Composers like AV Ramanan, Singer Mano, Singer Janaki, Singer Malaysia Vasudevan and Jazz Fusion Band with Valayapatti S Malarvannan & The Violin duo Lalitha Nandhini.
In 2003 – 2008 he has performed for our Oscar Winning composer Shri AR Rahman in his world tour concert “Unity of Light”.
He instituted Drumalayam to share his knowledge and experience to young children and encouraging them to perform in many stage and drumming performances.
In 2004 he initiated “Isai Mottugal”, which is the first children orchestra in India, where children are trained in a professional way for singing and playing the entire instruments in the orchestra. The orchestra has achieved more than 900 plus stage performances in India and Abroad.
Isai Mottugal singers have participated and won in several singing competitions such as Vijay TV Super Singer and Indian Idol Junior, etc.
